  • Booked courses – these IT classes last more than one session. In some cases, you might get a certificate at the end.
  • Booked sessions – one-off IT sessions booked in advance
  • Drop-in sessions – first-come first-served gadget sessions

Many sessions provide one to one coaching, whereas courses are normally delivered to small groups. Computers are provided by the venue, or you can choose to bring your own device – mobile, laptop or tablet. All opportunities are free, unless otherwise stated and they are updated fortnightly.

Digital Accelerator – Diploma in Digital Skills (August)

The course will equip you with an essential tool kit of digital and creative skills and will help you to apply for a new job or apprenticeship. The provider works with a variety of local employers.

The FREE Digital Accelerator at a glance:

- A 3 week full-time course, run once a month, Monday to Friday (10am-5pm)

- Completed in person at the Mac Training Centre by Hove Station

- Awards a Digital Skills Diploma

The Digital Accelerator course content:

- Practice using design and marketing software used by professionals: WordPress, Photoshop, InDesign

- Learn employability skills such as teamwork, networking, interview and presentation skills

- Build your own website and create an online portfolio and creative C.V.

- Understand what local opportunities are available and secure interviews for exciting jobs with great employers

First priority is given to graduates and current students of any discipline, but anyone can register providing they are aged 19 or above as of 31st August 2016 and are committed and passionate about learning.

Suitable for IT beginners and those who are worried about using the computer.

Who Can Attend?

The project is open to anyone aged 19 or over who has mild to moderate mental health challenges such as finding it hard to go out, not sleeping, worrying, feeling stressed, anxious, sad or low.  You will be asked to complete a self-assessment of your mental health to see if you meet the criteria to be involved in the project.

People can only attend one Self Health course so that as many people as possible can take part in the research project and provide us with their data.

If you have already completed a Self Health course between September 2015 and April 2017 you will not be able to attend another long course but you can attend a Workshop for Returning Learners (see pages 10 & 11 of our new brochure for what’s on offer).
